Ashton
Kutcher vs. Batman
“A
person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or
noble qualities” (Definition of Hero). By this definition anyone can be a hero.
What makes a hero and hero are the people who make them one. Different
generations idolize different people and different heroes. Heroes are people
that we look up too. They all have unique qualities that make one different
from the other. Two examples of heroes from different backgrounds are Ashton
Kutcher and Batman. These heroes can be compared by; powers, purpose and
achievements.
First, the powers of both Ashton and
Batman are very different but, one is the same. Batman is a fictional classic
superhero. He is known for saving and defending Gotham City from criminals. Unlike
many superheroes, he does not have any superpowers. His superpowers are
intellect, detective skills, science and technology, and his wealth. Ashton
Kutcher is known to many as a famous actor, but he is much more than that. He
created, Thorn, a Digital Defenders of Children, previously known as DNA
Foundation, an international anti-human trafficking organization that works to
address the sexual exploitation of children. Both of these heroes have the power of
technology. Even though Batman beats his criminals up with his technology made
suit, and Ashton finds his criminals through Thorn. They both put their
criminals to justice.
In addition, they both have the same
purpose to stop the “bad guy”. Ashton
says, “I am here today to defend the right to pursue happiness.” His purpose is
to stop child sex trafficking in the world. While Batman’s purpose is to fight
any crime that comes his way. He will do anything to protect his city and his
people. Even though these heroes protect people in different ways they are
still fighting for the same purpose.
Lastly, both of these crime fighting
heroes, have many achievements. Ashton’s biggest achievement with Thorn so far is,
Thorn has identified over 6,000 trafficking victims, of that 2,000 of those
people were children. Of Batman’s many achievements; one of them was taking
down Superman and Darkseid one on one. Both of these achievements are very
different. One of them is a real-life difference being made, and the other is
for entertainment on TV.
Heroes can be perceived in many
different ways. To the change in generations and societies interest, conflicts,
and problems in the world. There will always be individuals who play the hero
in someone’s life. Batman and Ashton Kutcher are just two examples of heroes,
there are many more out there. Some everyday heroes, and some fictional. Either
one are important in different aspects. Who is your hero?
I was unaware that Ashton Kutcher did so much for people and helped a lot of people get out of something so horrible. I am sure that he is a hero to so many people by getting them out of sex trafficking. It is amazing how much he has helped others and I think he should get more credit of it because I am sure there are some people haven't heard about him making an organization for sex trafficking to stop it.
